With the exit of Gus (to be confirmed), do you think that some of our fringe or development squad players will step up and become heroes? It always seemed to me that Poyet was reluctant to trust playing many of these.

With the advent of FFP surely this must be an even more important consideration for the club than looking elsewhere. I realise, of course, that there is nothing more exciting than signing a FLAIR player - Vicente anyone? - but I wonder if Oscar is going to be constrained with how much transfer money he'll get.

Personally I would love to see us blood some of the youngsters. Wishful thinking - probably, but then I remember players like Tony Towner, Steve Piper and a certain Peter Ward, and, of course, in the present Adam El-Abd.

All new managers reassess their new squads, so would expect some movement
