Vicente was released by Albion at the end of the season
Vicente’s chances of a dramatic Albion comeback are receding.
The former Spain star – released by the Seagulls in May – is in talks with several clubs in his homeland.
Hopes soared among many of Vicente’s admirers that the departure, subject to appeal, of Gus Poyet, could lead to the Seagulls offering him a deal after all.
However, The Argus has been told there has since been no communication from the Seagulls.
Villarreal, who were keen on signing him last summer, are not believed to be among those in contention for his signature.
The newly-promoted club, known as the Yellow Submarine, will be the Seagulls’ first opponents at The Amex since the arrival of head coach Oscar Garcia.
They will visit for a friendly on Saturday, July 27.
Albion could still have Adam El-Abd on board by then after his talks with suitors Barnsley appeared to break down.
El-Abd has been offered a new one-year deal by the Seagulls but spoke to the Tykes, who were willing to offer two years.
However, a move to Oakwell for the Brighton-born defender is now believed to be very unlikely.
Scottish forward Stephen Dobbie yesterday completed his transfer from Albion to Crystal Palace on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
The move was set up when Dobbie moved up the M23 on an initial loan agreement in January.
Dobbie was ineligible for the play-off win over the Seagulls and the subsequent final against Watford but was in good form at the end of the regular season.
Albion will split their home matches into three price categories in the coming season.
It means the cheapest adult ticket – for a Category C fixture – will be £25 rather than the flat rate £28 last term.
But Categories B and A will rise to £30 and £32 respectively.
There will also be a booking charge.
Whitehawk have advised there will be some parking available at Saturday’s pre-season friendly with Albion for those who arrive early but are encouraging use of public transport.
