Top guy. Has paid up £200'000 of own money to pay outstanding wages at former club Albacete. I know he has plenty of cash but nice to see a grounded footballer who has remembered where he came from.

Not only is he one of my favourite footballers, he comes across as a genuinely nice guy. This only goes towards confirming that.

In a Champ Manager game many years ago, I stole him from Barca (I think, maybe he was at a different Spanish club at the time) for Brighton on a free when he was 16 in the game (it was the same contract loophole that allowed Arsenal to sign Fabregas as a youngster in real life), and he proceeded to totally boss the midfield as we romped to European glory, winning the Champions League three years in a row... happy days. I'd never heard of him, but Sports Interactive's scouts have been proved right by time!
