He may well have done an important job that i would imagine he was well paid for but a 6 million pound pension and has not had to pay in a bean does take the biscuit, and i expect he will be picking up his £300 per day when he gets his peerage.

A £279k increase! That is some jump in salary

It is massive but the rich get richer these days, assuming he met his targets perhaps that is where the problem was.

I assume the real sickener would be the fact he only hit his targets by cutting the workforce.
