I imagine that an interim appointment may well be what will prove to be confirmed as a permanent appointment - hope so !
Good that at least something has happened which is positive from any Albion point of view.
Perhaps we may see this interim appointment tomorrow (Monday) with a bit of luck.

Tano is the likely guy to take over as interim manager , if not the club will have to draft in somebody for the short term.

'Interim' in the carefully worded statement conveniently covers all bases:
1. Shows we haven't pre-empted the discipline outcome.
2. With the Albion Board and PR people having been focused on the outcome of Gus's hearing (and Charlie's case still outstanding) it gives them time to catch their breath and prepare for unveiling the new manager.
3. Even if OGJ (or A N Other) is quietly appointed overnight it realistically allows him a week or two to sort out his own management team, finish their hols or whatever, clear their existing desk if relevant and then get their feet under the managers desk.
4. Finally if we haven't got a manager lined up then the statement buys us time and manages everyone's immediate expectations.
