Crikey. Certainly making use of those parachute payments. Thought it was completely pie in the sky when I saw the rumour.

That's bloody ridiculous. How did they manage that?

They should walk the league but, that said, the Championship never ceases to surprise us.

Is that the same Royston Drenthe who was kicked out of Everton for poor discipline ? I wonder how fired up he is for a season in the Championship ?

The guy won't last more than two months at Reading. The guy is a liability!
He's fallen out with every manager he's played under. Even David Moyes could'nt handle him a couple of seasons ago.
Maybe Atkins The Physio can manage him?!

Yep, temperamental and already been in English football playing for a bigger club. Looks good on paper but could go tits up, a ticking time bomb in an otherwise stable squad. Happy with this.

Really? He was highly rated at Feyenoord, moved to Real Madrid for £10 million, played 50 odd games for them, was class on loan at Everton the season before last.

Got a bit of a temperament if I remember rightly though.

He was absolute MUSTARD in the European u-21 Championships a few years back. I presume it was that tournament that got him the move to Real? I remember there being genuine excitement that he was going to be the next big thing in European football.

Despite his attitude problems at Everton, I remember him having a good of storming games. With his head in the game, he would certainly rip this league to pieces.

Reading are going to take some beating this season. Drenthe is a class signing.

Drenthe is a superstar on his day, with the right application he'd be playing for Man Utd, he really is that good.

A quite unbelieveable signing, if Adkins gets him playing then we may as well all pack up and go home.
