Apparently it's because I am/was an O2 home broadband customer.

I've just signed up for 12 months of this:-

- Free Sky TV - The Family Bundle
- Free Sky+HD box and free set-up
- 80 entertainment channels, over 40 in HD.
- Free Sky Broadband Unlimited.

All for the princely sum of £14.50, per month, for the year.
£10 cheaper than what I was paying O2.

I'm not a lover of Sky many due to the money, so I have always turned it down.
But they've finally got me.

 there's no mention of any sports.

I just figured others might be able to cash in too.

That's a very good deal. Surely you can top up for sports?
TBH I'm not that bothered about sports.

I'd only watch the stuff I'm happy to 'steal' online, cycling and NFL.
Soccerball jumped the shark years ago.

Yep all in £14.50, per month, for the year.
With no further on going contract, after that.

Well, that is a very good deal indeed. I have just switched from Sky to Virgin and by playing one against the other I got 12 months discount and £100
credit saving me £450 over 18 months.:)

Just moving into a new place so need to research this - do you still need to have a BT line before you can get Sky or will they literally do the whole job now?

Sky can charge for a Bt installation if you need it, but a little bit of good natured banter can and probably will result in them waving the fee!!

Not the real one
I pay £13.07 for all that. The just renewed me for 12months at that price. I was cancelling 12 months ago and they put me on that rate, then I cancelled again unless they gave me the same offer. It took a week, then they called offering to renew for 12 months. I was fully prepared to leave them though. It was keep the price the same, or I'm off.

In todays post I got:-

A letter from Sky saying they were sorry I was leaving Sky/O2.

&

A letter from Sky welcoming me to Sky.

Still it keeps me in work.

Does it indicate anywhere which fixtures BT will get and which Sky will get?

I think on 20 weekends, Sky get first pick and on 18 it's BT. However, sky get first call on which weekends they want I believe. They aim to hamper BT by targeting their choices carefully e.g. On European weeks, they know the big clubs will not play on a Saturday so they may leave those ones to BT, making it harder for them to land the biggest fixtures.

Less than a week later, and bosh Sky is installed.

My next question is:-

When do I tell the kids we have it?

It's set up in the front lounge, a room they don't really watch TV in, as there's no digibox.
At the moment they don't know.

I know I'm very very late to the party but I'm loving watching last years Tour highlights in HD.
