Poyet has been called in for talks with the Brighton board and it is widely expected that his future will finally be resolved in the next 48 hours, four weeks after he was suspended and told to stay away from the club.

Telegraph Sport understands Poyet could be sacked by the Championship club for alleged breaches of contract following an extensive investigation that was launched days after the defeat to Crystal Palace in the play-off semi-final.

Poyet's trusted assistant Mauricio Taricco's own suspension was lifted last week to ensure the affair has become even more muddied, with the League Managers' Association attempting to mediate in the dispute.

Poyet has endured a fractious relationship with chief executive Paul Barber over the last 12 months while he is also believed to have clashed with Tony Bloom, the chairman, over what he believes has been a lack of financial support.

The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has recently returned from holiday in Spain and is keen for a resolution, though it is feared his three-and-a-half year spell is set for a bitter ending, possibly even by Monday evening.

Well we will hopefully soon find out.

Interesting to note that they mention Tanno's suspension being lifted, but don't say a word about Charlie. Not sure whether anything can be read into this, other than that Charlie's fate may take longer to be decided, but I'm surprised that reports keep forgetting about Charlie.

Probably more to do with the fact nobody outside of Brighton would know who he was.

A fine, shining example of a flimsy article covering its own arse.
