oh bollocks - first Bridge, now this. My favourite comic author. Gutted.
Sad to hear this: 'Wilt' is quite possibly the funniest book ever - literally Laugh Out Loud.

Any Tom Sharpe book was not a good book to read at 'bedtime' you could not get to sleep !!!!
Agred. His early stuf written about South Africa was prety savage. Surprising as he grew up a Nazi sympathiser.
Really? I know his dad was, but I've never seen anything to say he was.
Apropos of nothing, he went to school at Lancing, btw...

He's the only author whose works I've read all of. Was a caustic wit and will be sadly missed...RIP
RIP. Didn't know anything about him, but recently finished reading "Riotous Assembly" thanks to an NSC recommendation. Brilliant stuff, now I find out he wrote it quicker than I read it! Will certainly be working through his other books.
