Stupid Question:

We have started listening to audiobooks in the car using a USB drive. Why would the chapters play in the wrong order? If I load a music CD to the USB, it plays in the correct order so why not audiobooks? It is a right pain! The folders/chapters appear to be sorted in the correct order when you view the USB drive on a pc. There is no pattern to how the chapters play (ie it does not go from chapter 1, then 11, 12 etc). It seems random (and no the random track playing thingy is off)

Any ideas?

It's possible the chapter numeration has been saved as follows:
1, 2, 3, 4....,10, 11, 12 etc.
You have to re-name chapters 1 - 9 as follows:
01, 02, 03, 04 etc.
Otherwise the drive in your car will read the mp3 files in the following order:
1, 10, 11, 12,...., 2, 20, 21 etc.

It is playing them in alphabetical order, by the sounds of things. Try renaming the chapters 01, 02, 03... ad infinitum.
