Not a bad selection. I have to say that Ward and Zamora playing together at the peak of their powers would have been unbelievably exciting to watch...

Its difficult choosing take Vicente he didn't play that much but I haven't seen much better than him on his day in the last 25 plus years ive been a fan. Do you know why Ward didn't get more recognition at international level?

I really like this selection. It's three eras, kind of. Cullip is a great shout, I'm really surprised to see him there though. Maybe ups on over cullip?

I felt that Cullip was a class above before he joined Sheff United absolute nails as well. Im surprised you didn't mention Gotsmanov!

2. Inigo Calderon
3. Paul Watson
4. Liam Bridcutt
5. Danny Cullip
6. Gordon Greer
7. Elliott Bennett
8. Richard Carpenter
9. Craig Mackail-Smith
10. Bobby Zamora
11. Paul Brooker

No Bridge or Upson because they only played one season. No Vicente because he achieved a lot less than Paul Brooker did. Buckley will be in there if he continues to improve as he is doing.

I think I would slot Robbo in for Ward and use Wardy ad the impact sub. But otherwise.

Inconsistency. Played his way into the England side by summer of 1980 then scored one goal in about 11 at the start of the following season.

Wot, no Paul Clark? If you're going for a tough guy XI you need Tank in there somewhere. Would also argue a case for El Abd!

I would love to have a season ticket for that side.

I think I wouldn't have a sub keeper on the bench and go for Mark Gall (wish we saw more of him) or Gary Nelson instead. John Byne and Mike Small would have to be a double substitution of course?
