I've heard nothing but excellent reviews of The Americans.

Don't be put off by the fact it's on ITV, it's supposed to be really good.

It was on TV in January in the States. Very good and really absorbing, well worth watching. I think the guy that created it is ex-CIA so he knows the score. Supposed to be a second series in the pipeline. Hope so.

Deffo a second series.

Expect to see Tony Kornheiser in the back ground of an episode.

He's been whoring himself to get a cameo.

Watched the first episode, thought it was really good. Definitely getting the series link seal of approval.

I videoed it so I can ff the adverts.
Apparently once it's all settled in, episode 5 completely smashes the program apart, and levitates the whole series.

The first episode left me a bit hmmmm.

But earlier I listened to Bacon interviewing the lead actor.

He pointed out the first programme is the pilot episode, so therefore it has to cram everything in, be interesting, but still leave a giant 'hook'.
Obviously it was commissioned so the following 12 programmes will have more room to breathe.

Been watching this.

It's brilliant.
Yeah I've been really enjoying it too.

I think it's a little niche, because to me on the outside it's pretty far fetched.
But nobody does paranoia like the yanks so I'm not surprised the Americans loved it, they probably see it at real life!!

With that said each plot twist has been really well handled.

Loving the retro vib.

Well I really enjoyed that.

A pretty basic nuts and bolts story, but well judged, nicely paced, great acting, and a very solid story line.

It's quite refreshing to be heading towards a second series, while series 1 is nicely done and dusted with a couple of intriguing sub plots left dangling.

I was very surprised how invested I was through the last episode shenanigans.
