Albion scooped three awards at the Official Football Hospitality Awards on Thursday night, which included winning the Fans' Choice Award after finishing top of the Football Pie League.
This further recognition for the club’s award-winning pies, supplied by Piglet’s Pantry, follows on from winning the first, second and third prizes at the British Pie Awards in April.
Elsewhere, the club received the Silver award in the Media Choice category, finishing behind Premier League side Aston Villa, and another Silver award in the Green Hospitality category, finishing runner-up to Newcastle United.
Albion executive direct Martin Perry was present on the night to collect the awards and he told seagulls.co.uk, “These awards recognise the hard work by staff working behind the scenes to make the Amex experience the very best that we can. It is great to see that we are continuing to be recognised for the very high standards that we have achieved and I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who has been involved.
“A special word though must go to Jo Philips and Piglet’s Pantry for the pies. What a brilliant achievement and what a story. From a small business sharing premises in Shoreham to the huge operation now supplying over 9,000 pies every game, and applauded by fans not just from Brighton but all over the Premier League and Football League landscape.
“Representatives from Harveys Brewery were at the event to share in the enjoyment. These are local businesses who have directly benefited from the Amex and are great examples of how the Albion is delivering on its promises to the local community.”
Over 300 guests from football clubs across the country celebrated their ‘off the pitch’ successes at the Official Football Hospitality Awards night. In their ninth year, the awards recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football stadium across the UK from the Premier League to League Two.
The prestigious event, organised by Stadium Experience, was held at Reading’s Madejski Stadium, and 43 different clubs were eligible for at least one of 18 possible awards. Some awards were entered by the club themselves and others by nominations from fans, media and other club directors.
The overall winner of the evening was Aston Villa Football Club, who scooped the top gong for Overall Matchday Hospitality Experience 2013, fighting off tough competition from across the Leagues.
Stadium Experience chairperson Lisette Maas, added, “These awards recognise those dedicated teams who work tirelessly off the pitch at football stadia across the UK to make hospitality, conferences and events run seamlessly for their customers.
“These often invisible teams continually raise standards across the industry, working both matchdays and non-matchdays to ensure that in some instances up to 90,000 visitors are catered for to an exceptional standard each and every time.”
