Yep. Oil should not be put into the water system. Used cooking oil we always refrigerate until it solidifies and then put in the bin.

would never happen in my house.
Been doing it this way for 20 years without issue . . not that i use deep fat fryers or much oil particularly

Why not collect it in a cup, mix any leftover seeds or cereal into it and leave it out as food for the birds?
