I think it would be amiss not to mention that it is now a quarter of a century since the Nelson-Bremner partnership helped Brighton to a rather unexpected promotion from Division Three in 1987/88.

@%1; has supplied me with footage of the Bristol Rovers match here.

You can watch the BBC South news report:

And from TVS:

Great credit for Barry Lloyd in rebuilding the side after the horror show of 1986/87.
Any particular memories from this promotion season?

Enjoy!

Worthing
My favourite memory of the run in was the win at Donny. Garry Nelson & Paul Wood both scored stonking goals and a fantastic day out was had by all.

Brilliant my 1st season and what a great season, racing up to snatch 2nd spot on the last day.

And the Fa Cup game vs Arsenal in front of 26,500,the last of the bigger crowds of the Goldstone era.

Remember it really well. Enjoyed the euphoric atmosphere on the pitch after the game at the Goldstone. Thanks for sharing this. The Nelson/Bremner strike partnership was brilliant that season.

Remember that day well. There was a big crush getting out of the North Stand (on to the pitch) after the game

Bristol Rovers fans were in the north east corner. There was a very tease afternoon from my memory, there was some crush in the north when we got the 2nd..

That season was my first real taste of football without adult supervision, did I have a great time you bet. Next season even better loved catching the train from littlehampton. Fab memories.
