For large parts of this season, Villa have been awful, so I won't get too excited about the dead wood they are cutting.

Agree that Bruno is a sick-note but wouldn't call Calderon inconsistent, he just isn't quite good enough to warrant a start at every game this level, albeit he gives his all which is evident on the pitch. Lichaj could do a job but if you've just been released by a struggling prem side, maybe you just aren't good enough?
