Usually this fixture is wrecked by bad weather so it's pretty meaningless. I believe that Derbyshire have had the most lost days play in the country out of all the first class counties.

In fact, there used to be a saying at the ground " If you can see the hills to the north of the ground, it's going to rain soon, if you can't see the hills to the north of the ground, it's raining already"

Anyway we have Won the Toss and Elected to Lose the Match. Derby 28-0 after 6 overs

Derby is a seriously dire place to watch cricket, well it is a seriously dire place full stop.

Inserting is the best chance of a draw. We can only hope they are too conservative with the declaration.

I think you can tell this from the blatant "massage parlour" directly opposite the train station. Wonderful first impression.

Anyon given a blow after four, yes that is four, overs! The Goff is not reading the script and has somehow got a wicket. 38-1

Best avoid temptation by walking just down the road to the Brunswick and doing the full set of Beer Taps - all parts of you will be too relaxed to need a 'massage'.

Derbyshire 71/1.

Why haven't they declared yet? Talk about rubbing our noses in it. Elsewhere Murray Goodwin scored a magnificent 1 (off 22 balls) for Glamorgan

The small matter of getting Maximum Batting Points before the close of play, tomorrow will then be Carnage.....

4 down, Redfern gone for 0, the local commentator and token Derbyshire player were bigging him up on the way out to bat and how his average was " none too shabby "....... "Thanks for the onions mother "

Derbyshire 173/7. You can tell Chris Jordan has played at a better standard (Surrey) as he flukes his third wicket of the innings.

How the hell did we get Katie down here? I can only assume RHB has some incriminating photos of him. Someone who has played for Surrey 2nd XI shouldn't be embarrassing himself at Sussex.
