Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has undergone a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of getting breast cancer.

Would you do something like this as a preventative measure? Seems rather radical to me, but then I guess you can never tell what you would do in a similar situation.

Doesn't she have a dodgy gene that makes gives her a ridiculously high risk of developing breast cancer? 80% or something?

Yes, 87% and 50% for Ovarian Cancer. She was showing no signs of either though.

Even so, it depends on if it's affected others close to her (mother, sister etc). If it has, I'm not sure how I'd deal with an 87% chance of getting cancer knowing that there's a realistic (if drastic) preventative measure out there.

Yeah 87% chance. Would you have your nuts cut off if given similar odds!?

I imagine she'll go for Katie Price style fake 'uns as a replacement!
