from those stats, it seems to indicate Brighton v Leicester final, or Brighton v Watford final or....

Very interesting. The most interesting fact is that if Palace or Leicester did go up they would be the lowest form team to ever do so. No team has ever gone up averaging lower than 1.33 points per game since 1st April. Palace have averaged just 1.00 point in that time. Leicester just 1.29. Hopeless.

One other thing I noticed is that of all the winners over the last 20 years only two teams are still in the premier league.

Interesting, thanks.

Final position doesn't really mean a lot without context - have you just missed out on automatic or just scraped in, or did you cruise to 3rd / 6th. And having the worst form on the run in doesn't mean much if all 4 teams were in good form and the difference was marginal. So it's good that they've looked at the figures in more depth than that.

I guess at the end of the day Form, Being Favorites, last result, living in a much fresher place, knowing that NOT one person in Sussex would move to Croydon, but nearly all the People in Croydon would move to Sussex, means NOTHING when it comes to the Play Off's...
