Here is the 2013 league table. Brighton on top just ahead of Watford.

Results since 1st Jan.

Some interesting facts.

One I like - Ipswich - best defense - only 16 goals conceded in 21 games - Brighton scored 3 of those at Portman Road!

Off course, Watford beat Brighton 3-1 at the Amex on 29 Dec so is not included, but even if that were included we're still top.

Underlines my feeling that Charlton Athletic are on their way back.

Still it all counts for nothing at the moment.

Ulloa and Upson for the whole season = automatic promotion
I'm not buying that, as brillo as they have been, and the team has been this year, that's not been the case for the season.
Far too many of our attacking options weren't up to it from Oct to Dec.

Neither Cardiff or Hull have bossed this division, but have still got promoted.
Like many I think it could have been us, I worry that this season may pan out to be a missed opportunity.

But too many times we didn't play to win, preferring not to lose.
It's no coincidence we have majestically steamrolled all before us, from the point Gus said:-

'we need to risk losing to win more'.

Had we played with an ethos nearer to that, and trusted the defense more, then we could/should be looking at automatic.
