With a capacity of 22374 I fear we could be in trouble for averaging 26236

Also worth noting, today's attendance was the 2nd highest of the whole Championship season across all clubs. Only Sheffield Wednesday, with 31375, had a higher gate for a game.

and Derby with 33010 (highest in 2012/3 season) so 3rd but still pretty impressive.

I know not part of the regular season averages, but another 30,000 vs. CP, will edge it up in Seagulls club records even more.

Can't see us getting 30k+ as there would be more segregation than today.

Bear in mind these are reported as attendences but are merely 'seats sold'. The club don't release figures relating to actual attendance which is disappointing but par for the league.

No we were 3rd. Derby got the highest gate of the season for their match with Forest.

That is the point that falls on many a deaf ear. There wasn't 30,000 there today, so why claim it ?

I used to get outraged at clubs that post an attendance when there was nowhere near that many at the game. But now i can see the sense, if the club has SOLD the ticket then that is perfectly acceptable.

My view would be that the club should then announce that as tickets sold, not the attendance.

Not entirely the clubs fault as the league require the clubs to declare seats sold rather than actual bums on seats but I fail to see why they can't require the clubs to declare both figures. At the end of the day, seats sold is really just of interest from a business perspective.

I can't see why both figures aren't available.

That would be a sensible and transparent option, although once the discrepancy was announced the 'where the **** are they ?' debate would be interesting.

I tell you what would be interesting-if folk had to give a reason for not attending....

1500 Watching Chelsea or Arsenal.... (although that number may drop if we go up)

And non-attendance without a note from your Mum should lose you loyalty points!

Because everyone else does. It doesn't fall on deaf ears, but there's no point being the only club that reports actual attendances, when everyone else reports tickets sold. That's what happened at the Withdean, so you get people thinking we didn't sell all our tickets because we reported different figures.
