A thread full of players who are being released who would be an improvement on existing players in our squad.

I'll start with a back up goal keeper Paul Rachubka

I would hope we don't go for anyone who's been released. Especially if we go up. Anyone getting released at Prem standard are either on too high wages, past it, not good enough, or all of the above. There are some obviously exceptions and I'm sure Bridcutt will be mentioned but I would have thought we'll be spending money on transfer fees rather than doing a QPR and raiding the big clubs left overs.

Some might have signed a new deal or agreed a move since this was published in January, but here is a list of 83 players who will be available on a free from La Liga in the summer. I imagine we'll sign at least one of them.

Obvious exceptions like Bruno, David Lopez, Vicente

Totally pointless thread until we know for 100% for certain what division we will be playing next season.

Yes I'm sure a guy playing well in champions league quarters final would love to drop to second division.

Some people are so clueless.

Messi would be a good signing for us.

if we went up then joaquin wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to be honest....malaga can't play in europe next season (forgive me if i'm wrong on that) so it wouldn't be as big a step down as first thought

i would actually cream my pants if it happened though

NEITHER CAN WE

..........i know

my point being that a premier league side signing a player from a la liga side (especially one that isn't playing europe) is hardly uncommon

i'd be surprised if we did sign someone like joaquin, but to be honest it's not much less likely than a championship side signing vicente...

We signed Vicente because he had been plagued by injury (that is why Valencia released him) & he still is.

Sorry, Joaquin would never come to us in his current state. He could still do a job for Spurs/Swansea or similar clubs. We wouldn't be able to compete for his salary either. Would be amazing though :)

Granada have a player called Íñigo López ...
He's got a really thin head but loads of hair and is the best right wing back/striker the world has ever seen :)
