County Council Election Results

Overnight counting in East Sussex has only taken place in Eastbourne and Hastings. All wards in the two towns have now declared.

Seats won so far:-

Labour 7
Lib Dems 6
Conservatives 4

To an extent. But everyone was predicting the collapse of the Lib Dems as well. That hasn't happened. Tory rule on ESCC might be over. But that will depend on tomorrow's results in the rural areas of the county.

Looks like turnout is going to be an average of around 30% - the 3 main parties should really understand that THEY are responsible for this apathy !

Hasn't the only change been labour taking three Tory seats in Hastings. As a traditionally labour area that's not really that surprising.

Maybe Cameron and Clegg will realise no one wants them now.

I think that clueless idiot Osbourne has done them more damage. He's a man well out of his depth.

Absolutely. People now don't vote "for" parties, they vote against and put the tick for whoever's left. Ukip are appalling but when the alternaives are these Cons, Labour or the laughable LibDems then you can understand it.

True; but that turnout figure has been pretty standard for Local Govt Elections for several years now; its not just a sudden drop this time round.
