Our (Warks) top order batting has looked pretty shithouse so far this season, although Bell and Trott coming in for Troughton and Javid strengthen that considerably. The big miss is Rikki Clarke, who has been generally excellent (with bat, ball and slip catching) for the past couple of years; Milne replaces him, who I must confess I know very little about. Boyd is fit again and in for Hannon-Dalby, who despite his heroics in the last match with the bat was crap with the ball, so that's a definite upgrade.

Without The Goff our attack looks much weaker. He may not have got all the wickets but his accuracy and pace meant other bowlers picked up wickets as the batsmen tried to score runs at the 'easier' end.

Why have warwickshire not declared yet ? Something fishy going on here
Obvious match-fixing and an investigation is currently underway into unusual betting patterns. Asian bookmakers with links to the West Midlands have apparently been taking huge bets all morning on this lasting into a second day...

Warks 50 for 0
Genuinely ominous given their line-up and the absence of Mags. Monty will do a great holding job but wickets with the new conker were important this morning.

Big test for our boys - expect them to battle hard and make themselves tough to beat (after losing the toss have to hope the pitch is built to last).

Lancashire have reached 1229 against Glamorgan and are predictably making a farce of Division Two.
