Had he played a full season, Ulloa would have been close to making it. Bridders couldn't have been too far off.

Apparently 6 goals and 8 assists and having a memorable name is enough to win the award.
Nope, just the memorable name was enough. According to Palace fans, Bolasie hasn't been very good, yet he's in the team. Murray obviously deserves his place though.

Can't argue with Murray. Incidentally, 6 goals and 8 assists?

Orlandi: 7 goals 11 assists
Buckley: 7 goals 8 assists
Lopez: 9 goals 6 assists

Obviously they're at different stages of their career but that shouldn't mean anything. I mean, if a 20 year old scores 20 goals but a 30 year old gets 30, the 30 year old should get in ahead every time, right?

Buckley is up to 8 goals now (Orlandi assists up too).

Age should make no difference to player/team of the year. It makes a huge difference to value, but that's not the point. Palace went into marketing overdrive with Zaha, and it worked, they got £10 + addons for him, so hats off. It also had the effect of people over-rating him. He's been average for most of the season (and opinions on the Palace forum bear that out).

Precisely. It's down to Palace's management of the media that Zaha is so well regarded and credit to them for that. It's something we could learn from (although I guess it depends on whether you want to keep the player or get a massive windfall). Since Christmas (or his move) he's been well off the boil and was surprisingly one-dimensional against us.
