Nope, just the memorable name was enough. According to Palace fans, Bolasie hasn't been very good, yet he's in the team. Murray obviously deserves his place though.Apparently 6 goals and 8 assists and having a memorable name is enough to win the award.

Buckley is up to 8 goals now (Orlandi assists up too). Can't argue with Murray. Incidentally, 6 goals and 8 assists?
Orlandi: 7 goals 11 assists
Buckley: 7 goals 8 assists
Lopez: 9 goals 6 assists
Obviously they're at different stages of their career but that shouldn't mean anything. I mean, if a 20 year old scores 20 goals but a 30 year old gets 30, the 30 year old should get in ahead every time, right?

Age should make no difference to player/team of the year. It makes a huge difference to value, but that's not the point. Palace went into marketing overdrive with Zaha, and it worked, they got £10 + addons for him, so hats off. It also had the effect of people over-rating him. He's been average for most of the season (and opinions on the Palace forum bear that out).
