Dean Hammond admitted it was good to have sealed a top-six finish with a game to spare after the 2-1 win at Elland Road.And the Albion midfielder confessed the victory was all that mattered as the Seagulls edged out nine-man Leeds.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It has been a good season, a hard season but we are finally there.
“It went in our favour today, we had that bit of luck and we haven’t had masses amounts of luck this season but it went for us today.
"We got the win and that was the most important thing, but there is one more game and we need to finish well then on to the main event."
Hammond also commended both sets of supporters for the vocal backing of their sides.
"Their fans are great and got right behind them, and our fans were great and got right behind us as well.
“We started really well and we nearly scored but we hit the post, then we did score and we were in control of the game.
“But sometimes when a team goes down to ten men you maybe relax a bit but they are Leeds United, they are a good side.
“It is a hard place to come and we know we could have done better but we won the game which is the most important thing.”
