Albion can plan for the play-offs if they add to their collection of points from Elland Road today.
The Seagulls have only lost once at Leeds on their last six visits.
That run dates back to December 1989, when Gordon Strachan, John Hendrie and Vinnie Jones gave the hosts a 3-0 win as they headed towards promotion from the second tier as champions.
Alan Navarro scored on 90 minutes to secure a 2-1 success at Leeds last season, Albion’s first win there since 1985.
Four of the last six meetings between the sides in West Yorkshire have finished as draws.
Fans who like to leave a couple of minutes early at half and full-time missed all the goals last time Albion lost at Leeds.
Luciano Becchio and Jermaine Beckford netted in the last minute of the first half as Micky Adams’ men were beaten 3-1 in 2008.
Beckford rounded things off for the hosts on 90 minutes but there was still time for Glenn Murray to respond with a fine finish.
