yep, i replace the good old fashioned ones with the new ones daily, feel a bit guilty about it really.....if you need a sparks hyperion, can pop round monday eve, will only charge a bottle of bubbly!

Firstly, have you checked the fuse on your consumer unit as the immersion heater may well have it's own fuse or alternativley, is there a fuse in the cupboard where the heater is.

Plumbers can do the job as long as you turn a blind eye at the time ------- plus they are cheaper than 'Sparks':ohmy:
Was thinking he could check it himself, neither a job for plumber or sparky.

Given the age of the tank it is very unlikely that the heater could be removed/changed without causing damage to the tank.
