Simon Rusk has praised his team following back-to-back victories against Coventry City and Southend United. The young Seagulls won both games 2-0 and Albion’s youth coach was delighted with the performances.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “We put in two good performances and defensively were very solid.
“It gave us a chance to blood some of the younger players and against Coventry we were up against a side that were a lot older than ourselves, but we dominated and it was a particularly good show from us.
“Neither Coventry or Southend put weakened sides out against us, far from it actually, so the results are extra satisfying because of that, even more so the fact we prevented both of them from scoring.
“We just need to take these results and performances into our next game against Birmingham as it will be another tough test for the boys. But it was also good to get some of the younger lads involved as well as they can use these experiences going forward into next season.”
Goals in either half from Robin Deen and Charlie Harris secured victory over the Sky Blues.*
The game against Southend was finely poised at 0-0 before two goals in five minutes from Jack Rowe-Hurst and Harris once again gave Albion victory.
