It would be better if those people at the gates could actually count people remotely accurately. They hold everyone out of the platform, then let people on about 3-4 minutes before the train turns up, people get on, the back 2 coaches usually half empty, and they rush to send more people on or send the train off quite empty.

This, it irks the hell out of me that people don't move down the bloody carriages just so they can get off quicker.

People are so selfish - once they're on they don't bother moving down the isle. Same on the bendy bus, I couldn't believe that thing, it was empty in the middle, and the driver couldn't let any more people on.

It would also help if people moved to the end of the platform. Quite often the first carriage of the Eastbourne train has spare seats whereas in the middle carriages it's not even standing room only.
