Sounds even worse than palaces.

I don't speak German, but the goal scorers name gets blurted out and another half a dozen chants, sounds seriously rubbish

Palace copied it from the Germans, who have been doing it for long enough that it is traditional, and not naff.

But, goal music? THAT'S naff.

I think the crowd are in fine voice, but the pre-planned announcements just sound so artificial. Why bother?

They do it at most grounds and have done for some time. I think it's alright and adds to the at atmosphere.
