Apparantly he died at his home in Devon following his battle with cancer, aged 56.

That is dreadful news. My God - I can't believe it. I did not know he was ill. Would like to think the club will recognise this at the last home game of the season.

Does rather put things into perspective.

That's a real shame. I have two very clear memories of him: the Wembley headband of course, and possibly the worst miss I have ever seen (in front of the North stand - lifted the ball over the bar from what looked like virtually the goal line). Really good player in a very special Albion side.
