Just listened to Radio 4 who are having an "Italian week". They mentioned Beppe Grillo the Italian comic who has got into Parliament as head of a new political party.
I thought about this then wondered why, al;though a number of famous actors have entrered Westminster (Andrew Faulds, Glenda Jackson to name but two) and infulence politics today (Hugh Grant for one) nobody from the comedic world has really built on Ben Elton's assault on Thatcherism in the 1980's.
If anyone was to start a new movement I hope it would be:
Jack Dee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Just reading his 2009 autobiogaraphy "Thanks For Nothing". Actually it cost £1.50 in a charity shop Jack.
It's worth the money though.
Who would others nominate?
