You're spot on, these things are tolerated when the results are with you. When they are not, it's very annoying.
I think Holloway's problems started after comments he made after the hammering at the Amex, saying he didn't care about the rivalry.
Palace fans had got out of the habit of what a humiliation in that fixture felt like (we knew more recently) and what he said didn't go down well at all.
