Dominos don't really sponsor anything in football do they? I'm surprised it has taken this long to get a pizza the action

Both sound massively shit.

who would wan to win the Dominos Pizza Championship.

Lets get into the Prem this season so we dont have to worry about that.

Sounds TIN POT.

Next we will have the FA Cup sponsored by Nandos.

Well it was Focus who were you-know-who's who then merged with Do It All. Then Focus Do It All bought Wickes but ultimately fell on hard times and what was left of that company was bought out by B&Q, as I understand it. Therefore you-know-who may very well have nothing to do with B&Q but they're all so interlinked that for me they're tarred with the same brush. Anyway, I've no doubt that sneaky ****er somehow profited from the B&Q buy out of his failing company

Domino's in talks to sponsor Football League - Marketing news - Marketing magazine

Says they're in the mix along with B&Q to take over from Npower for next season onwards.

I'm no big fan of Dominos particularly but I'd sooner them than B&Q given their association with you-know-who

Thoughts etc?

B&Q have nothing to do with Archer & Bellotti - you're getting confused with Focus DIY and then Wickes - neither of which have any association with said toss-pots!

As for Dominos - It never ceases to amaze me that the Football League associate themselves with companies who sell junk food!

They may as well go the whole hog and be sponsored by Benson & Hedges!

When have the sporting bodies in this country ever cared about inappropriate sponsors?

Witness the country's largest McDonald's being located in the Olympic village, Coca Cola's sponsorship of football and Cadbury's being a headline sponsor for London 2012

Not to mention all the beer companies...

They're the companies with the money - unfortunately, and money talks. The last time I had a Dominos from the Shoreham branch I was throwing up within 2 hours. Never again.

Travis Perkins brought Wickes in 2005, nothing to do with B&Q or Archer.

NPower were not the highest bidder last time the Football League's naming rights were sold - an online gambling company were. NPower were chosen because the football league thought it would be irresponsible to give a gambling company naming rights, whist claiming that football is a sport for all ages. I was told this by a relative, who is fairly senior at NPower, so I have no reason to believe it isn't true.

I can believe that. It seems gambling companies are often quite frowned upon by the authorities, which is why clubs who have online casinos as their shirt sponsors have to have different sponsors on shirts they produce for children. Just seems silly that they choose to villify one industry that is considered inappropriate whilst allowing another almost free reign.

2 naff sponsors, cant imagine either getting the deal myself. Although it would be great for my employers (B&Q) to get the contract as it would probably result in some free tickets, i cant see it happening as the company is far from financially safe.

Ill go for a drink or online gambling site. Wouldnt mind someone like Red Bull going for it - the Red Bull Football League doesnt sound too bad, much better than Dominos or B&Q.
