Albion are due a win – and a point – and a goal – at Middlesbrough.
The Seagulls have lost on their last five visits to Teesside.
Their last goal and point date back to October 1898, when they came from two down to draw 2-2 in the second tier.
Tony Mowbray’s header and a Gary Parkinson spot kick put Boro in charge soon after half-time.
Dean Wilkins teed up both Alan Curbishley to fire into the top corner and Kevin Bremner to head home the 90th-minute equaliser at Ayresome Park.
The Seagulls’ only win at Boro came in 1985 when Danny Wilson converted a penalty.
Albion’s last five trips to Middlesbrough have seen them lose 2-0, 4-0, 5-0, 1-0 and 1-0.
The League One Seagulls were unfortunate to go down to a lone Malcolm Christie goal in 2003 when they took top-flight Boro to extra-time in the League Cup.
Last season Scott McDonald scored early to end Albion’s run of three successive wins.
