Albion youth fell to a 3-1 defeat to Millwall in their final league game of the season.
*
The Seagulls found themselves two goals down after 20 minutes before Charlie Harris’ fantastic strike from distance halved the deficit.
*
Simon Rusk’s side were in the ascendancy and pushed for an equaliser; they almost found one when they were awarded a second-half penalty. However Cameron Wiltshire struck the post with his spot-kick.
*
Wiltshire came close again when he dragged a shot wide when one-on-one, and Millwall capitalised on the missed chances as they added a killer third goal with ten minutes to go.
*
After the game Rusk rued the side’s loss of focus but is now looking ahead to the upcoming friendlies as his team’s season draws to a close.
*
He told seagulls.co.uk, "We lost our disciplined defending and we need to understand the value of defending properly; you cannot afford to switch off at any time.
*
“We will approach the friendlies the same way though, as we want to win each game. We want to improve, and finish the season with a good feeling and winning football games.”Albion: (4-3-3) Walton (GK); Collar, Rea, Lall, Maguire-Drew; Benham, Asmundsson (Peake 60), Wiltshire; Deen (Cousins 83), Harris, Muitt (Pring 45). Subs not used: Colquhoun (GK), Courtney, Horncastle.
