London to Brighton Bike Ride

I've done this a few times and will be again this June, but a friend of mine is doing it for the first time and is staying in Brighton the night before (I live in MK). So they are wondering how easy it is to put the bikes on a train and travel up to Clapham at around 5/6 in the morning?

Its not allowed, he will have to train it up Saturday and stay in clapham

OK cheers, I just found out that's what they are doing but BR will not guarantee a space for the bike??
