Why does the S bus ponce about on the way home by turning off at Carden Avenue and going up Valley Drive, Dyke Road, Hove Park, Goldstone Crescent etc? It doesn't do that on the way there so how did these people get to the ground in the first place. It's like taking a tour of all our former football grounds.

My guess is there is not enough space in the coach park for different queues for each route after the game?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
If h or s are full they go direct after the grenadier on the outward but all go through patcham, withdean and goldstone crecsent on return. Another well thought out plan:facepalm:

I use the S bus to get home and would use it to get there. Will look at alternatives in future.

Got home (top of Dyke Road) 1.05 hours after leaving at the final whistle.

because that is the route they are meant to take, however the bus is always full by the grenadier and therefore goes straight to the ground from there

Not always it isn't, but the Grenadier is now the last pick up point pre-match.
The S route changed this season. Post-match is still the whole route.

Could be helped if people who need to get off prior to the hangleton used the H bus rather than the S one.

The S bus should go straight to Shoreham after the game and drop off on the way back which would encourage those in Patcham etc to catch the H bus. This would also reduce the waiting time after the game as the buses could then return empty from the Grenadier.
