No, not a thread whinging about a player...

Although he didn't have a stand-out game today, I did notice that on 7/8 occassions Hammond made sprints forward to be our furthest man up the pitch, often when Ulloa was tracking back or winning the ball. It was good to see him trying to get forward and support Leo. Anyone else notice this today? Thought he had a good game, despite a few occasions where he perhaps could have won the ball, but didn't quite get there. Much more box-to-box than normal.

He did make some good runs but he has absolutely no pace so didn't usually end up getting on the end of anything.

He made some good runs but had little or no support. It's a shame he lacks pace.

He was the furthest forward player which was good to see, although not that convinced he would score one on one with the keeper. The turn on the half way line in the 2nd half was like an oil tanker turning in the channel! We need more pace.

Hammond being prominent lumbering about in forward positions was a sign that things were not as they needed to be.

What frustrates me about Hammond is that he often slows a break down. The ball will be rolled into him and instead of having a glance over his shoulder then turning sharply, he controls it, then runs a long slow arc in order to face forward, by which time the opposition is set up defensively. He was useful today in that he won a fair few headers we would otherwise have lost in midfield though.
