Volunteers from the Alzheimer's Society will be at the Amex tomorrow afternoon, bucket collecting before and after the game as they lead the fight against dementia, so fans are encouraged to give generously where possible.
The charity has a vision of a better, fairer world for people with dementia and believe that people with dementia and the people who care for them have the right to high quality services and support, as they work to achieve this through a combination of campaigning, research, awareness raising, training, information provision and the delivery of their own services across the UK.
The Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.
There are 800,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2021.
Many of the 20,000 members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform the work done.
The Society's fight for a better world for people with all types of dementia takes a wide range of forms. Through their network of local services, they touch the lives of over 30,000 people every week, providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their carers.
Through campaigning and lobbying they strive to influence government policies and raise awareness of the challenges faced by those affected, and through their research programme they work to improve the knowledge about dementia and its treatment - and pursuing the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
