Simeon Jackson is poised to join Albion on loan before tomorrow's deadline
Albion are poised to end their search for a loan striker by borrowing Simeon Jackson from Norwich for the rest of the season.
A source has told The Argus a deal for the Jamaican-born Canadian international is “very likely” to happen before tomorrow’s deadline.
Jackson, 26 tomorrow, has mainly been used by Norwich as an impact substitute since joining them from Gillingham in July 2010.
Albion have found it difficult to land a forward to solve a striker shortage caused by long term injuries to Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins and a*seven-match suspension for Ashley Barnes.
They cannot guarantee a new arrival a starting spot, since boss Gus Poyet usually operates with a lone centre-forward and Argentinian Leo Ulloa has been in hot form since signing in January.
Jackson, however, is out of contract at Premier League club Norwich at the end of the season and regards a switch to the Seagulls’ Championship promotion challenge as a chance to seal a more permanent deal.
He has been on duty with Canada during the current international break.
