With the Grand National only a little over a week away does anyone on here have any tips for the big race.:albion2::albion2:

Am I right in assuming that there is more value in betting now rather than leaving it to next week?

I never bet on horses so I have no idea.

ps my horses have died the previous two years so, basically, avoid whatever I choose.

Thank you for reminding me that this clashes with an Albion home game.
I had just recently got over the annoyance.

At this stage it is worth looking at bookies who will pay NRNB (Non Runner No Bet) which means if your horse doesn't start you get your money back. Only 40 horses can race and at the moment the list is 60 odd i think.

You guys have got it all wrong. The Grand National I know takes place when Spring is turning into Summer and the cricket season is lurking round the corner. You mean the Melbourne Cup shirley.

pick a few 20/1's to 40/1's that can jump pretty well, and go e/w...........it's a complete lottery......impossible to tip as the poster above says.

Generally it is a bit of a lottery but you can certainly whittle the 40 horse field down to single figures if you look at the trends of the weights, form, age etc of the horses that have won in the past.

Cant you just lay your horses to die on betfair? :)

I've genuinly searched to see if some mental bookies do "horse to die".

I've not had any luck thus far.

Please, let me clarify, I don't WANT the horse to die. It has genuinly upset me the last two years. I just want to soften the blow somewhat if it's third time unlucky.

Not a tip, but if the ground is still soft I'll be having a little bet on Soll 66/1 at the moment. Nice horse.

Tofino Bay at 33's for me.

May also back Rare Bob (decent handicap IMO, 28/1) and Harry the Viking (40/1) on Bet365.
