Been around for a while though and this is the first season he's ever scored a decent number of goals. You'd want more than one season in a Fourth Division striker.

They'd possibly put too high a fee on him, and it would be a significant gamble.

Walsall's Will Grigg has been banging in the goals this year in an average team. Likely to be snapped up soon by a bigger club and still only 21.

I don't think another league 1 striker is the way to go, Ulloa has done more in the three months he's been here than CMS and Hoskins have done in the two seasons. Another Spanish import would be just the ticket.

To be fair, Hoskins never got the chance due to injury. But he did look good when he did play.

Indeed he's a poacher. Doesn't do masses for the team but sure does score. If he wasn't so injury prone there'd be a good player there for sure.

For what it's worth I think we might get a top quality youth from a Chelsea/Arsenal type team next season. Top draw player not usual scrubber. People must have taken notice of the type of football we play and if they'd compliment Gus' tactics and a regular spot alongside Ulloa then great. Can't see us gambling again too soon. Older free transfers on bigger wages rather than high fees on youngsters seemed way forward this season. Exception might be the Dutch CB of course!

I really rated Hoskins while he was with us, but even when he was fit for a number of months his first team opportunities were so few and far between. In my opinion that amounts to failure because if he's not good enough for a sustained run in the team, he wasn't a good buy.
