How would people react towards Gus if he did leave?

How would you react towards Gus if he did leave and we play Reading next season? Personally I wouldn't clap him or boo.

If Gus goes to Reading, then everything he has ever said about only leaving for a big club, is total crap....This is Reading, not Chelsea. They have a smaller stadium, smaller fan base and will in all probability be in the same division next season with a smaller average attendance. I would not begrudge him going to Chelsea or even a club like West Ham...but Reading ffs.....As they say, money talks and bullshit walks.

I'd still have a lot of affection for him, after all he achieved here .. I'd certainly not boo him.

Have to agree, but IF he goes and it is a very big if. If you want to make some money go onto betfair and lay it. He is 1.33 to lay. Like printing money imo.

I'm inclined to agree with this.

I wouldn't forget any of the on-pitch moments that Gus has brought us during his tenure, but to leave for this opportunity would be very, very disappointing. We know from what he has said over the last three years that his aim to is to manage in the Premier League, but surely he wants to be there for longer than eight games? If Reading were to go down, there is no guarantee at all that they would bounce straight back up under Gus' guidance.

Have you got a video of that? I would like to see it.

I honestly feel that if he was to leave for this "oppurtunity" then he has lost a lot of respect which most fans had for him, after all he has said in the past and the fact that monday he was promising us a striker

Mind you if Gus does go to Reading, he is getting closer to his dream job at Chelsea...13 miles closer in fact and when he doesn't get the time to do the job that Bloom has given him, he can go to Brentford, then he will only be 7 miles from Stamford Bridge lol....

Who remembers the reception Mickey Adams got at our away match at Leicester, after he'd left us in October to take that job? We lauded him like a king, we love Mickey more than you, etc etc.

If Gus were to leave now and his successor managed to get us into the play-offs then I expect history will treat Gus kindly, and he'll fall into the "respectful applause" category. However, if we bomb out and the "project" starts to go pear-shaped I suspect he will not remain popular.

If he left for a big club then nobody could have any complaints, but to be honest I think part of the reason this feels so shit is because leaving for relegation-threatened Reading makes the Albion seem less of a club than we all thought we were. This feeling is magnified by the fact he appeared to turn down Premier league Wolves last February - clearly a bigger club than Reading.

I'd ask Hove Born & Bred to react towards himself on my behalf. With a pithy question that he doesn't answer.

Split into 2 camps, as with Murray.

a) Judas, didn't like his football anyway, tippy tippy with no end product, Dean Wilkins was the tactical master who didn't get a fair crack, always started the useless CMS and blew £3.25m on him.

Or

b) Gratitude for the playing revolution he started at the club, the Championship season, brilliant football at times, and bringing a level of players we've possibly never seen.

Very much this for me

I'd applaud him but not for long.

After the 3-0 loss against Watford at home I'll admit I had pretty much lost faith in him. The constant playing of Barnes, sideways sideways back back back etc, I wanted him gone. I was foolish. If he goes I'd be devastated! We are on the brink of something special. READING?? ?? ??

I'd offer him a hob-nob, then as he went to take it, I'd crush it to powder in his hand and say " You googling ,dirty son of a Uruguayan google. Why don't you google off you googling demented, egotistical, two-faced stinking google sucker!" " Oh, and by the way, you look like a googling chimp!"
