Albion fans are being encouraged to join the club's first-team players and support Dan Lawson on day four of his attempt to break the world record for the greatest distance run on a treadmill in a week at Jubilee Square, Brighton, tomorrow.Day four of Dan's Dare has been declared 'Albion Day' and Dan will be joined by club captain, Gordon Greer, Will Buckley, Gary Dicker, Ashley Barnes and Casper Ankergren fresh from the club's first home victory over Crystal Palace in nearly a quarter of a century. Fans are being encouraged to wear Albion colours and run or walk alongside Dan on treadmills for up to an hour to raise money for AITC's childhood obesity projects.
Said Dan: "People can come and join in for as little or long as they want and even walk on the treadmill if they wish. The main thing is that they get involved and help us raise money."
Lawson started his record attempt at 6:30am on Saturday morning and by this morning had completed 190 miles of the 520 he will need to complete if he is to beat the current world record set last year. If all goes according to plan he will break the record between 6 and 7pm on Friday alongside Albion chairman Tony Bloom. Dan's nine year-old daughter Ruby, who is attempting to run a marathon over the course of the week, also plans to be alongside her Dad when he breaks the record.
Fans can join in with Dan any time between 7am and 9pm tomorrow. The Albion players will be appearing between 4 and 5pm. To sponsor Dan, please visit the designated Virgin Giving page. You can also get in touch and find out more by following Dan on Twitter @therunningdan and on Facebook.
