I dont know if this is correct but a chap sat just in front of me in Lower West was saying it yesterday. Palace have never done the double over us since the war but we have done it 7 times over them. Is this correct can anybody remember any occasions I cant off the top of my head.

Yes - it is indeed. Not sure about the 7 times precisely, but it is around that figure.

Sept 7 1932 was the last time Palace completed a league double over us (WarTime games excluded).

I thought all Albion fans knew that !

Just checked on Soccerbase - by my reckoning we did the double over them in

1983/84
1980/81
1975/76
1957/58
1955/56
1951/52

They did it in 1931/32 - but we did beat them in the FA Cup that season

They also did it in 1928/29 and 1920/21

So I make that 6 times since they did it and we are 6-3 up

How does this stat work with play offs? I mean, we could end up playing them 4 times, if they win one of those legs does it count?

Lovely. Between 1976 and 1984 we THREE TIMES beat Palace home and away in the same season. We also achieved the same hatrick between 1952 and 1958.

Palace have not done the double over us in the past 81 years (and even that year we knocked them out of the cup...).

Along with our clear lead in victories head-to-head these are important stats for Albion fans.

Banner hanging off the upper tier of the West (like Man Utd's old one about Man City) would be great - big '7' in blue and white stripes and big '0' in red and blue stripes.
