That is what happens when we play two wingers!

Having the class of SD and Orlandi tucked inside makes all the difference.

Vicente isn't a winger?

Vicente should be an impact sub. If we start with him then everything generally goes through him. Was it a coincidence last year when we couldn't win a game when he was playing? I don't believe in coincidence.

Leave our best player by a country mile out? Great idea...

Vicente isn't the problem. He is the best player in the Championship. OK he didn't play as well as he can, but he is hardly to blame for our failure to take the three or four clear cut chances we created. (He is responsible for one!) The others need to take more responsibility when he is playing, but it is telling that when he does, our players constantly give the ball to him. Wonder why? Could it be that they have seen him at close quarters and they appreciate just how good he is?

We need to find a way to make it work, because in the big games we hopefully have to come, he is our best chance of actually winning a play off...

Didn't think two wingers worked last night, Charlton found it quite easy to defend against as the movement of the ball forward and out to the wing was extremely predictable. Vicente was always having to give the ball to Lualua as there were few options available. Lua lua couldn't cross the ball for toffee last night. Really needed Hammond on for Greer to add some dimension going forward.

With Charlton parking the bus then Vicente was the right choice to unlock their defence with a slick pass however we didn't require two wingers.

I would have had a solid spine to the team and then got Bridge and Calderon involved with attacking as wide options.

Kuzcszak
Calderon, Greer, Upson, Bridge
Dave, Hammond, Briddcut, Vicente
Ulloa, Buckley

Allowing us to get men into the box to finish moves in amongst a large number of Charlton players. Also having Lualua and Orlandi as options to stretch a tired defence after 65 mins
