It doesn't fill me with confidence on Sunday if Painter is there for if/when someone needs to be replaced. He can read the game well but that lack of pace against the likes of Zaha and Bolasie? Oh dear.

smacks of desperation this - wasn't good enough in first place and says a lot about the 'squad' depth and quality that need to recall MP!.......

I sincerely hope Painter is nowhere near the side on sunday, there is no way he can cope with Palace's pace.

smacks of desperation this -

Why does it. He is a left back. We need a left back on the bench. It makes SENSE.

If we didn't call him back and had to play a midfielder there then everyone would say "why didn't we call Painter back? At least he is a left back".

His last game for B'mouth was their 1-0 defeat against Sheff Utd on Feb 23rd, where he was subbed off at half time

He was perfectly decent when he played for us earlier this season
