It doesn't fill me with confidence on Sunday if Painter is there for if/when someone needs to be replaced. He can read the game well but that lack of pace against the likes of Zaha and Bolasie? Oh dear.

I sincerely hope Painter is nowhere near the side on sunday, there is no way he can cope with Palace's pace.

The way we set up to face pacy wingers is to double up. It will be the job of the wide man ahead of the full-back to do just that; or rather, whoever it is would not be doing their job if they leave the full-back exposed in a one-on-one.

Why does it. He is a left back. We need a left back on the bench. It makes SENSE.
If we didn't call him back and had to play a midfielder there then everyone would say "why didn't we call Painter back? At least he is a left back".

His last game for B'mouth was their 1-0 defeat against Sheff Utd on Feb 23rd, where he was subbed off at half time

He was playing very well prior to leaving, I am sure he can do a job if asked, I would imagine he has been recalled as cover on the bench.
